Testosterone is an important hormone in the human body that plays a vital role in sexual development and reproduction in men. Low levels of testosterone that are atypical of normal aging are due to other primary or secondary causes of hypogonadism. Hypogonadism in males happens when the testicles don’t produce enough testosterone. Hypogonadism can start during fetal development, during puberty, or during adulthood. Signs and symptoms of insufficient testosterone are but not limited to low energy levels, low muscle mass, erectile dysfunction, slow hair growth or hair loss, loss of bone mass, fatigue, and mental fogginess.
Symptoms of Low Male Testosterone:
Intramuscular Testosterone Injection.
Testosterone is partially converted to estradiol, a form of estrogen, and while this is a normal process, it may affect hormone balance when overall testosterone production falls. We use estrogen blockers to maintain a better balance for some men. Vitamin B12 and human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) therapy may also prove effective at treating low levels of testosterone.
